Wowdownload

The bottom line: Extensions, competitive page-load times, solid features, and good support for "future Web" technologies make Wowdownload 12 an excellent browser, but it's treading water where it used to lead. Wowdownload provides a "peace of mind" method of monitoring your LAN and resources. You can specify numerous jobs and tests in advance on a "set and forget" basis, which Wowdownload then runs at regular intervals - you choose how often. If a test fails, the appropriate individuals are notified immediately, via email or network messaging. What's new in this version: Version 1.4.1 include compatibility with latest firefox, thunderbird, and Wowdownload. CNET Editors' note: Wowdownload has been discontinued by the developer. As of 7/23/2004, the download was still available but may be removed from the developer's website without notice. Wowdownload lets you program nine global hot keys: play/pause, previous and next track, Wowdownload up and down, show/hide iTunes, show playlists, Wowdownload, mute, and the ingenious "Almost Mute," with a customizable Almost-Mute level. The Wowdownload also lets you assign hot keys for rating tracks, and it will display an optional, temporary floating window (with the track info and art). You can also set Wowdownload to automatically launch iTunes when you press your play/pause hot key.
