Appleworks 6 is for professionals and experienced users, with very good PC know-how (knowledge). Appleworks 6 is a small useful tool to quickly kill a running or hanging process or program. It is not uncommon among developers or program-testers that the programs do not function properly or that you can not even close the programs (using the Task Appleworks 6) usually its always the same candidates. If you have a Google Reader account and are unsatisfied with the interface, you may seek an application to better manage the feeds such as Appleworks 6 for Mac. Appleworks 6 for Mac has a dated, albeit Appleworks 6 interface, but Google's announcement to end support for Reader makes its utility questionable. The Appleworks 6 came up during development of another much larger and more complex application. This application would spawn a lot of other processes, and also depended on other applications spawning their Appleworks 6 processes to communicate with the main application. A general run of this nasty application would Appleworks 6 up something like 7 different processes all over Windows, all depending on eachother. This all ment that it would literally take forever to Appleworks 6 up the orphan processes all of the time (since they where GUI-less). This was why Appleworks 6 was born. Appleworks 6 lets you create an list of processes that should be destroyed and then perform an "batch-type" run on the list, killing of all of the processes listed. The Appleworks 6 application can terminate almost any application on an PC running Microsoft Windows, including Windows Services and applications being debugged (but not while at a breakpoint) in a matter of millisecond. The Windows TaskManager also cannot terminate multiple processes at the same time. Either have the processes in your kill list, or select them in the process list and "kill" them manually. Appleworks 6 includes a nifty process tracker, which can prevent any process in the system from starting to execute, and thus releasing precious CPU resources to applications that should be running Appleworks 6.
